How do I Fill Gaps in Mitres and Between Walls in Skirting Boards?

by George Hill » Wed Feb 04, 2015 6:59 pm

I've just fitted a white primed MDF skirting board.
The walls are incredibly uneven.
As a result the skirting has gaps where the mitres don't quite meet and there are up to 5mm gaps where the top of the boards don't quite meet the walls.

1. What would you recommend to fill the gaps so that they disappear once painted?
2. What paint would you recommend to paint the skirting?
