Can anybody tell me the steps involved in changeing a central heating
pump, and any problems I might incur whilst doing so.

The pump in situ at the moment is a ' Groundfloss 16/50 which
is badly corroded, and I was hoping to replace it with the same type.

Or is there a better one:? any suggestions would be most welcome.

1) Isolate the electrical supply and disconect the electrical connection. 2) Turn the pump valves which should be fitted either side to the off position. 3) losing the pump valve unions conected to the pump. 4) Catch what water there is and pray the pump valves are of a reasonable quality and hold. Swap pump for a new Grundfos UPS15/60. 5) Now reverse the procedure.

make sure you purge the pump (ensure you have water in the pump as you must not run a pump when it is dry for obvious reasons.

Mark
