However, keep in mind that a lot of air conditioning units also heat your home.

Make sure you get A rated units with a COP of 4.

This means that during the spring, summer and autumn they can heat your home producing four times the amount of heat out as you put in.
A 12,000 Btu air conditioner puts out about 3.5 Kilo watts, that enough to heat your average room.
