Ideas for replacing wood flooring after building work

by Achurchi » Thu Jan 14, 2021 9:09 pm

Hi, we currently have engineered wood flooring throughout our downstairs. We are about to knock through our kitchen and dining room and will need to replace the flooring in these two rooms as well as part of the hallway. Our builder has suggested we keep the current wood flooring in our living room as we don't need to take that up (We aren't doing any work to this room) but my quandary is if we can't source the same wood flooring to replace in the kitchen/diner/hallway then it might look strange once it's all put together! We have quite a small house. Does anyone have any clever ideas? The builder has already said he can't salvage the existing flooring so we can't simply sand and wax the current stuff and put it back (That was my only idea!).
