Installing light in loft using Quickwire splitter System

by martinjw210 » Wed Feb 10, 2021 1:11 pm

Hi,I am installing a led light in the loft using the quickwire splitter and switch and load connectors, but have found out that the lighting wiring circuit is 3 core and earth but the quickwire boxes only connect 2 core and earth,so would I have to connect the black wire independently?

many thanks in anticipation for any help.

Are you sure you have the correct cable?
3 core and earth is usually used to connect one 2 way switch to another 2 way switch, it does not have neutral.

If you are sure it is correct, then I can only suggest you use wago connectors instead.

So I was right. You had the wrong cable.
The cable you had first chosen was the interlink cable for your smoke alarms.
