Installing Plywood Subfloor to Install Engineered Wood Floor on top

by davidr83 » Sat Jun 17, 2017 11:05 am

Hello,

I'm looking to install a plywood subfloor, to install engineered wood floor on top. One thing I'm unsure- what thickness plywood should I use ? And what depth screws should I use, if i'm going into floorboards underneath ? Should I use self-countersinking screws for this?

Thanks!
David

Hi David the engineered flooring is built on ply? its part of the product.

You can just float it on the existing floorboards
