Insulating existing boarded out internal walls

by Hern » Sat Jul 18, 2020 7:22 am

Hi.
Just bought old house. Looks smart inside. Boarded out. Decorated.
However! It's clear it's simply battered and boarded. No insulation and big standard plasterboard.
Cold (North East Coast!) Damp spots in places.

Q. Can I inject insulation into the wall spaces or is it all going to have to come off?

Hi hern
If you have cavity walls then yes you may get away with foam filling behind the plasterboard. If you have solid walls you will probably have to take drastic action!

They are indeed solid walls.
