Insulating walls on a weatherboarded house Information, help, tips and advice on cavity walls, ceilings and lofts etc....

Hi,

Last year I bought a weatherboarded house, but last winter noticed that it got very very cold ! After some investigated, I discovered that there is just fresh air between the outside weatherboards and the internal plaster boards. :(
Does anyone know of a way of insulating the walls, without having to either remove the weatherboarding or the plaster ?
I have seen the stuff that gets pumped through a whole for brick cavity walls, but I assume this would not work on a timber frame house due to all the noggins etc....

Please someone help me, I can't face another winter with 10 layers of clothes on !!

Quick answer, no. longer answer, you could put insulated board on top of your existing plasterboard, but you would have to alter all your wall points, sockets etc. Tiresome!
