Is laminated or wood floor good for kitchen?

Kitchen floor is too cold. It just has two layers of vinyl on top of concrete. Lounge and hallway floors feel less colder as they have a layer of lamination on the concrete.

But the concern is that laminate or wooden floor will get quickly damaged in a (somewhat) wet area.

Please recommend suitable floors that are durable for kitchen (where it gets wet - water, spills - and there is usually lots of traffic)

Hi jacobsumith
Laminate is fine in a kitchen provided you buy one that is designed to be used in a room where there might be water spills. Look for a manufacturer that makes waterproof laminate and offers a long guarantee. For example Quickstep offer a 25 year guarantee.
