Jewson sliding wardrobe doors

by patkin10 » Sat Mar 30, 2013 3:54 pm

I purchased from Jewson 3 sliding doors made by Swan-Robes. The doors are large 2300 x 900mm, 2 have painted chipboard panels and one is mirrored.

Over an eight month period the doors have bowed, the mirrored door more than the others (see photo). I think the reason for this is that the aluminium frame is too flimsy for the job. You will see from the picture that the frame is approximately the same diameter as a 10p piece. From my research this is smaller than competitors frames for this size of door.

Would appreciate any thoughts on the cause of this problem.
