Kitchen mixer tap mixing hot and cold Drainage and wastage systems and plumbing help, advice and answers

I have had a NEW mixer tap installed, when using either hot or cold side of tap the water combines , ie when using cold water the hot water is also drawn through tap , the boiler fires up and will deliver hot water to the tap without using the hot tap , weird I know , could it be as simple as changing the hot and cold pipes over ??? Any suggestions would be great

Either you have a faulty tap or there is a terminal mixing valve fitted between the hot and cold supply pipes.

Thanks for your reply, I'm going to change the tap , as you say it must be faulty as there is not a mixing valve
