Kitchen Tiles Lifting With Underfloor Heating

by hullpropertyowner » Tue Sep 10, 2019 4:57 pm

Hi all,

Hope you're well. I moved into a 1940s property in November 2018 that had been completely renovated from top to bottom.

Part of these renovations included a new kitchen floor tiled with underfloor heating underneath. Soon after we moved in, we noticed that the tiles were moving when stepped on and it appears that the tiles and underfloor heating were laid directly onto the old floorboards.

My query is whether we need to rip up the floor, which I'm guessing will probably damage the underfloor heating unit or are we able to inject adhesive through the grout? I've heard of products that can do this.

Any advice you can give would be fantastic.

Thanks in advance.
