Hi everyone, first post here!

I'm trying to fit some new kitchen units and have a question:
When lining up a tall unit into the corner it stands flush to the wall at the back at the back, however this leaves about an inch gap down the side that is next to the wall. My question is what do I do about this gap? I thought about a simple piece of wood baton but wont this have a gap as well if it is straight and the wall is off kilter?
Please excuse my ignorance!!

Its usual to have a piece of timber fixed to the front of the cupboard and cut against the wall to cover the gap. See our project called scribing timber in the projects section which will show you how to cut the timber to the shape of the wall on one edge while keeping the other edge upright.

I'll give it a go. I assume you use a hand saw?? What sized wood?

We use a jig saw and the timber depends on the size of the gap. Take a look at the architrave round your doorfames, it probably has a chamferred or rounded (bullnosed) edge, this is the sort of thing to use.
