Knocking down side extension with downstairs toilet

by Emlingo » Fri Oct 30, 2020 1:34 pm

Hi,

Could anyone offer some advice? We have a house that was built in the 1950s - and has a small ground floor side extension which blocks off our side access to back of house: it’s very small and only has a tiny loo in there. The previous owners built it in permitted development in 2007. We’ve knocked it down without even thinking it could be a problem. Do we need building regulations for this?

Hi emlingo
Assuming you have not made any structural alterations to the outside of the original house where the side extension was located, then no.
If you are going to fit a replacement outside door then you should have BR approval.
