We're in the process of buying our first home, a ground floor flat in a modern purpose-built block.
All the flats are likely to be identical, so I'm assuming the layout of the flat above is the same as ours. We want to knock down part of a wall, but I don't know whether it is load-bearing or not. It is the back of the airing cupboard, a square cutting into the corner of our bathroom, with the cupboard on the other side.
What we'd love to do is get a condenser boiler, rip out the hot water tank and knock down the back of the cupboard flush to the wall to give us more room in the bathroom.
But I'm thinking if we do this then the whole block might fall down.
Any suggestions on where to go from here?
