Large gap around door frame?

Unsure of what to use to fill this gap around the front door. Previous tenants used a mixture of decorators caulk, silicone and filler. What can I use to get a good end result?

Hi dyares737,
Suggest you use a strip of upvc flat section stuck onto the door frame using superglue.
