Laser Level for Drawing on Floor

by frugalacademic » Tue Nov 20, 2018 8:32 pm

Hi

For an artwork, I need to draw a chalk drawing (just some straight lines) on the floor. Somebody told me about a laser level that would beam out laser lines in 90-degree angles. This would be quite good as until now, I have been doing it pretty much measuring everything by hand which takes a lot of time. I have been looking at some products but cannot really make a decision, also because my budget is quite limited (not more than £50). Can anyone tell me which tool would be best? The longest line I have in the drawing is 6 metres so if I can get that distance projected by a laser beam I would be happy.

A chalk line will not work as it leaves residual chalk which I would have to remove so that would give me more work.

There are loads on ebay starting at £17.00, but get one that is self leveling & one that will project a laser vertical & horizontal to make life easy. Also a trypod is a help.
I had a Dewalt one for a long time & found it great. But this was over a hundred pounds.
