leaking mixer taps

by taniabaird » Sun Jun 17, 2007 6:44 pm

I have a mixer tap with shower attachment and it is leaking through the bath casing and into the kitchen but we are having trouble accessing the inside of the taps; the tops come off and the inner metal tube type valves but after that we cant get into the main body of the tap to access the washer/ceramic thingie. Unfortunately we have no access panel to the bath due to shody builders...
Any ideas on what the solution to this may be?

If you have a leak from the taps its 99% more likely to be the connectrion to the taps rather than the taps themselves. The "inside" of the taps is exactly that, the inside, and any malfunction usually results in drips from the spout. Its impossible, if the workings of the tap are faulty, for the water to get out under the bath.
