Lifting floor boards

by Lawrence » Mon Nov 26, 2007 4:32 pm

I need to lift some floor boards - 22mm chipboard T&G 8' x 2'.
Does anyone have some advice on the best way to lift and replace these type of boards?

Is is best practice to cut through the boards (using a circular saw) along the line of the joist or is it better to cut along the side of the joist and then refit after having screwed some 2" x 2" to the joist?

What do you do when you need to lift the board along a wall edge and getting a saw in close is almost impossible?

thanks

Hi

I think you have answered your own questions there . as you say cutting along a joist watch out for nails and pipes set the saw to 22mm depth and look for pipe runs. As for cuttng near a wall try cutting back a bit further and fix a noggin in through the floor.
