Light in loft Help, advice and problem solutions on all aspects of home appliances from washing machines to TV's

I am wanting to have a switched light in my loft, but i dont have a power supply in the loft.
What i do have though are the wires for the upstairs lights, some of the wires from the lights are connected together with one of those round connectors.
Is it possible to use the power from this connector to power up my wanted swith and light ?

When you say round connector do you mean junction boxes, do these feed out to a number of lights on the circuit?

ER, yes, that's normally where the power for the light is taken from.

Trouble is the ceiling rose wiring can be a bit tricky for a novice. Frankly, I would suggest you leave this to someone who is at the least experienced.

Mains electrics really is not for the novice.

Yes you could but I'd advise that you get someone who knows that a "round connector" is actually a junction box to do it for you.
