Trying to lay base for log cabin 14x10ft and have been advised to lay concrete lintels 1.5ft apart on porous membrane just on compacted level ground. Advice been given twice by 2 separate builders but can't find anything similar advice-wise on Internet. Instincts tell me to go with paving slabs. Understand air circulation with lintels will be improved and it's cheaper than slabs but the prefab base had cross beams it can rest on anyway creating a gap between the base and the floor. Anyone used this method? Do the lintels need fixing or just placed on the ground?
