i am trying to find out if i can if i can open up my loft access, so that i can put larger items in the loft. the problem i have is a small loft access and want fit in a larger access but i have roof trusses stopping me, i will have to remove one cieling joist which i can strengthen between the next two. can anyone advise me if i can do this.

yes you can do this but before doing it check the local buiders merchants they do a pre formed insuated loft hatch for about £25 and well worth it
