loft conversion, help required

by dalj » Tue Mar 16, 2010 1:34 pm

Hi guys

My father had a loft converted by builder, who promised the world but didn't come back, everything was only ok and the work was completed by 3 rd parties, ...it seems the walls and the ceilings keep developing cracks and the
loft was completed 2 years ago..., what could be causing the cracks?

dalj,
It may just be the timbers used drying out and shrinking. If the work was inspected by your local Building Control you should be able to rule out defective workmanship - have you got a completion certificate.
