Makita LS1040 mitre saw - urgent advice needed

by Totally clueless » Tue Feb 19, 2008 9:31 pm

Hello there

As far as I can see, this model doesn't seem to be a compound mitre saw... Does it matter? Is it a good saw?

Regards, and thanks......

Hi,
Just in case you haven't figured this out by now. This model is a compound. The bevel is obtained by swinging saw over to left up to 45 degrees ,then the mitre cuts are to the left up to 45 degrees and to the right up to 52 degrees. All this only matters of course if you need to cut compound bevels. Good accurate saw with the added advantage of quick conversion to table saw in seconds.
regards T.
