Measure thickness of self-leveling compound

by jradxl » Sat Aug 19, 2023 12:17 am

There's loads of videos on how to lay self-leveling compound, but none I've found tell or show how one knows what thickness has been achieved.
Is it a matter of just vertical sticking a steel rule in the stuff in about three places and adding more stuff if it's still too thin?

Hi jradxl,
If you are using self levelling compound it’s probably to cure uneven floor levels so measuring thickness would be meaningless. Lay the compound so it gives you a level surface, thickness doesn’t matter most can be applied feather edge up to 10mm.
