Hi,
I am looking to install a Megaflow system in our new 100 year old house (a bit of a contradiction i know). The current system is a gravity fed system with tanks in the loft space and the boiler is about 15 years old.
We have had 2 quotation for the installation of the Megaflow: Quotation (1) £1705 incl VAT- supply and fit 250 litre Megaflow and removing existing tanks and pipework. The price does not include electrical work. Quotation 2 £3461 incl VAT - Same as above + they state seperately that they are providing an immersion heater (which I thought was integral to a Megaflow), allowance in the quotation has been made to install a pressure reducing valve at mains, a fill loop, an expansion vessel and a Y plan complete with multi valves + all electrical works.
My first question is how necessary is all the addtional work in the second quotation? I am slightly suspicious of the fact that the company who provided it offer a plumbing and electrician service so may be over egging it a bit.
Secondly, do the prices that have been quoted sound reasonable for the work?
All the best,
Dave.
