Hello forum,

I'm planning the layout and chasing of the wiring, plumbing and gas.

How close can they be to each other?
If there are rules, what document defines this?
Does wiring using plastic/metal conduit change this distance?

Hi chendy
There are requirements for separating different types of electrical circuits but I don't think there is any requirements for other services (I may be wrong).
If you are chasing out for pipes and wires, the wires should be in sheathing or ducting so there is already an element of separation.

It was always considered 100 mm between services, but with tray with dividers you can have extra low voltage and low voltage on same tray assuming metal.

And it does depend for how far, mains power is AC and unless there is shielding then inductance and capacitive coupling can cause leakage.

So crossing is not a problem but running along side can.

As long as metal is earthed then it is unlikely to be a problem, where the problem lies is where fed from plastic so stray voltages can build up.
