Mira Discovery Shower Bar Valve

by Stan Hogarth » Wed Nov 21, 2007 11:31 pm

The Mira engineer claims that because the valve is not exactly horizontal (it looks okay to me) it is sure to leak and refused to fix it. I'll get the plumber who fitted it but I can't believe the bubble has to be absolutely spot on.

Your opinion please.

Having sold and fitted Mira showers for some years now, this is a new one on me!

I could understand probably that if the pipe was crooked where it comes out the wall, the seal rings may not mate up precisely and therefore leak, but if the shower is on and dry now, I can't see why it should leak later.

I am not every happy with Mira engineers full stop.

Most of them have done a 3-month NVQ 2 plumbing course and call themselves “plumbersâ€
