Monrose bathroom fan won't shut off Ask questions and find answers to many subjects relating to electrics and electrical work

I bought a replacement fan extractor with 2 wires only. My old fan had 3 wires, brown, grey and black. On the new fan I connected brown to live, grey to neutral, and tucked away black. The fan will not shut off when light swith is turned on. Please help as I have run out of ideas.

I would guess you have connected it wrong.
The wires you have (Not counting earth) are Permanent Live, switched Live, neutral.
You have connected the fan to permanent Live and neutral
You should have connected it to Neutral and Switched live
