Should i get permission to move my private drain in writting from the water board before starting work?...has anyone out there had problems with there local water board after they have completed simlar work. It's your drain, you can do what you like with it.

I can't see the water company being interested.

On new housing builds the Building Control department of the local council checks and approves drains.......and if you really want to get involved with the beaurocracy ask them.

I can't recollect a single instance of small builders/plumbers ever bothering.

JD.
