Need a new Fuse for lighting

by Eric B » Tue Mar 13, 2007 11:04 pm

I short ciruited my house lighting system whilst drilling a deep hole.
On the fuse box are the following marks:
MK
LN 5905
5A
415V M6
BS 3871
1965

The Front view size is 45mm H x 17mm W.
I have not taken it out yet to measure the depth.

Does anyone know where I can buy a replacment?

From adverts on line, Maplin seem to be the only one who sells but they do not display any size for their fuses and from other peoples comments, the dept of Maplin is usually too long?
Hope someone can offer help,
Cheers,
Eric

Hi Eric
Any good electrical wholesalers will stock them, even B&Q, Focus etc... They are the old cartridge type fuse before mcb became popular.
BUT my concern would be the short that you sound like you've made. It sounds like you've gone through a cable and that needs sorting out before you do anything else!
Best of luck
Keith
