New 1 Way Bathroom Light Switch Ask questions and find answers to many subjects relating to electrics and electrical work

Hi
I have removed the old pull cord switch, and noted where the old cables went;
The red into COM
Black into one marked 1 way
Neutral into the one marked earth
The new switch has the following;
COM, L1 and L2
Where does each wire go please??
I am sure it is simple but with the switches being different I am confused.
Do I have the wrong unit?

red to com, black( switch return, which should have red slieving on or red tape) to L1, I hope you ment earth(green &yellow wire) to earth terminal, & not neutral
