No more corgi!!

by tsb » Mon Jun 30, 2008 10:43 pm

As from April 1st 2009 it looks like Corgi are no more. Capita Group won the rights to run the 'gas scheme'! and will take over from them. Personally I would prefer both running schemes, then I could have a choice who I would become a member of ( like the electricians have)

I think it'll be confusing for people, as everyone now associates CORGI with Gas Safety.

One thing they should definately introduce - is that it is a legal requirement to have your gas appliances serviced annually. Not just for landlords, homeowners too.

No certificate (should =) no house insurance

Looking at the CAPITA website, they say that:
'they will significantly reduce the administration and cost burden on registered installers'

I'll believe it when I see it, when you only have one operator - therefore no choice of who you register with, they can charge whatever they like. I will be vey very surprised if they reduce the registration costs, and if they do - I bet it creeps up every year.
