No power to quite old AEG washing machine

by Karenx » Sun Jan 18, 2015 9:36 am

One day my (quite old) AEG washing machine was working fine and the next day when I went to turn it on there was no power going to it. Everything else in the kitchen is working.

A further problem is that when I tried to pull it out to change the fuse in the plug in case it was that, it seems that the builders tiled around it. The bottom white edge of the appliance sits just above the floor tiles!

Would someone be able to tell me how to pull it out, Ive tried tugging (and spraying furniture polish). How much space for castors etc is there below the bottom edge? There is an inch or so of space between the top of the machine and the counter top...

And also whether the no power problem is likely to be the fuse in the plug.

I actually had exactly the same problem with my old AEG machine. In the end I just had to get rid of it and I'll certainly not be buying AEG again!

I know this probably doesn't help you but I just thought I'd let you know you're not alone!
