I am unable to leave my window open at night as I did not select a window with a transom and, if it rains, water ingress is a real issue. The window has 3 vertical panes with a fixed centre pain and the left and right pane pivot outwards to open - see photo. I have tricke vents but this does not allow sufficient ventilation- not was it designed too! I would like to retrofit a transom but am advised that I would need to replace the full window (less than 3 years old!). Are there any other cost effective solutions out there? Any help would be much appreciated - thx.

Hi KJo53, you could buy a shortened casement and a fanlight casement, ******* a transom bar and hinge the fanlight using hinges on either side. This would be expensive and may approach the cost of a new window..
Presumably your widow catches have a night vent position and this is not enough.
You could convert the side hinged casements to top hinged and fit window restrictions for security.
