Non slip surface.

by Linda » Tue May 15, 2007 12:27 pm

I want to make a piece of wood non slip so someone can stand on it. I have seen this done on a balance board with sand and glue. I think it was sprayed on some how. Have you any ideas as to how the sand and glue can be applied in an even way so that it stays permanently on the wood?
Thanks Linda

Never seen it done Linda but painting the board with PVA adhesive and then, after a few mins when the PVA is tacky just before drying, tip some sand on and push down. Then leave for a while, tip off the excess sand.
In all honesty we cant see this surface lasting for too long if its getting any volume of traffic but its so easy to do that it can be repeated as often as you like.
