my firebird boiler wont fire up ther is oil going to the pump and the pump is working but there is no flame. the inspection window is totally sooted up so im guessing this is the root of the problem is it an easy job to clean the burner or is a job for the pro's any help gratefully accepted

It looks like you need a full boiler service.
Possibly a new nozzle and a full clean. Then have the combustion checked.
Find a reputable OFTEC reg installer
