House 1910, solid 9" walls. Outside rendered over soft Surrey red brick. Wall that took all the prevailing weather was tiled on the inside, therefore no moisture could get out. Wall deteriorated on the inside and tiles were removed, taking off lots of plaster. Inside wall re plastered in February and although some areas are completely white (dry) other areas are a dark brown colour. In spite of dehumidifier and windows open, colour does not seem to diminish. I certainly won't be tiling again and just want to paint it. If I use a blocking paint to cover the staining, will that still act as the tiles did previously and stop the wall breathing. Have you also any information on breathable paint. Many thanks. Lee
