Old lathe and plaster ceiling

Post by Waterland » Thu Feb 05, 2009 11:54 am

My first time on the forum.
Part of my house is old and one ceiling is lathe and plaster. Most of it is o.k but there is a crack that keeps returning. The rest of the ceiling is uneven as lathe ceiling are but generally o.k I have been told there is now a fibreglass based paper available I could use to cover this crack has anybody heard of this. I do not want to board over the whole ceiling with new plasterboard. Any ideas?
Thank you
Mick

Hi Waterland,
Try posting your topic/question on the painting and decorating forum. I'd expect a better response there. All I can say not heard of any paper that can keep a decaying ceiling up, may hide the nasties for awhile but if the ceiling is old and weary, a stitch in time saves a lot of bother latter on.
