Outdoor Socket & Lights From Existing 4mm SWA

by Roadie12 » Thu May 12, 2022 6:40 pm

First time poster with a background in Marine Electronics

New(ish) property with 50m of 4mm SWA fed from 32A (RCD protected) Consumer Unit from the house which has been terminated in an IP67 at the bottom of the garden

Seeing cable has been run already I am looking to utilise this for 1x Outlet Socket and a few Spot lights at the decking area (will always be very low loads).

Was just looking for ideas or suggestions on how to achieve this? As 4mm runs into JB will this need to be replicated up to outlet and lights?

Thanks in advance

Why not install an MK twin weatherproof socket on the end of the cable?
That way you can plug in what ever you want and your deck lights, and leave the plug in the socket all year.

Many Thanks

I was going along that way also with having the IP outlet sockets mounted at the end of the cable

For calculation wise is everything in line with 50m of 4mm fed from a 32A breaker from the consumer unit inside the house?
