paint/tile on teracotta floor tiles

by karlappleton » Wed Feb 25, 2009 10:05 pm

Hi I'm having a new kitchen installed and at the moment I have these orange teracotta floor tiles which will not go with the new kitchen. Is it possible to find a black floor paint to go on top of these tiles which wont crack, chip or peel away? if not will it be easy to tile on top of these- the only possible problem i could see is that the floor is slightly uneven and the grooves between each tile is around 8mm deep.
Does anyone have any suggestions, ideas or methods that may help?

Thank you for your time.
Karl

karlappleton,
I guess you could try a garage floor paint but it will not last and regular re-painting will be necessary.
Your only sure-fire way to achieve a durable surface is to replace the existing tiles.

I agree - I'd have 'em up as well.

Cheers
