hi i have a static caravan with shiny hardboard panels wich have seen better days what do i need to keep the paint or emulsion to stick cheer,s :?

hi i've done a couple of these, 1 we applied a zinnser product to prior to emulsioning/glossing, it sticks well and gives a good base. the other we papered the entire van which made it look warmer and more homely, if you decide to paper put a drop of pva in with the paste or pva the areas first both work well.
