Painting new external wooden door that has got wet

by Jackfunk » Mon Jan 01, 2024 11:23 am

I've had a new external wooden door fitted to an outside toilet. It's rained before I've been able to paint it and the bottom of the door is damp. What should I do? Do I press ahead and apply an undercoat, or some how dry it out?

Hi jackfunk,
Cover the door with a plastic curtain and wait till the door dries out before you paint it. Don’t forget to paint the lower edge to seal it from damp getting into the grain.
