Painting new plaster

I am ready to paint a newly skimmed ceiling after having left it a couple of months. It has a surface layer of "dust" on it after its been plastered . Do I need to wash this off or can I go ahaead and paint?[/b]

See our project on painting new plaster and wipe the dust off with a damp cloth.
