Hello

We've accidentally used gloss on the ceiling and one of our walls today, and could really do with an idea of how to solve the problem. Is it just a case of waiting until it dries and then sanding it all down?

Please help!

Update: The whole of the ceiling was glossed, and part of one wall.
We've now sanded the wall and that looks ok. Do you think the emulsion will stick to it?
The ceiling however was artexed when first built (house is about 11 years old). What has happened is the gloss has peeled away taking with it the original coat of emulsion exposing very powdery artex. All the paint has now been removed, and we are going to treat the artex with a sealer for powdery surfaces, which worked before when a similar thing (no gloss involved that time though) with our kitchen.

How are you planning to finish it - paint or paper?

the beat paint is zinsser bin it is a primer/undercoat
i use it fore jobs like yous all the time
