Painting over plaster fillers

by elise28 » Thu Aug 19, 2010 6:49 am

Yesterday I used some filler to fill some old holes left in my bedroom wall from the previous owner's shelf. All was well.

The paint they used is still here so today I sanded the wall smooth then painted over the top of the plaster (and yes I mixed the paint), even though it's covered, the paint however has turned out a lot darker then the rest of the room.

Should I have used a primer?
Any advice?

I'm very new to this DIY business.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks

elise28,
Leave it for a while, it may be the filled areas are still damp.
