Papering over Anaglypta???

by Paul1981 » Sun Nov 02, 2008 9:59 pm

I have textured wall paper (think its call anaglypta?) on my walls which I want to replace. Normally I would just strip it off and start again but the plaster underneath has come loose from the wall and I don’t want all the hassle of replastering! If I go over it with new wall paper will I see the pattern of the original stuff come through??
Thanks for reading!!

yes, most likely you will. and if it is anaglypta, or any heavily embossed paper for that matter, i doubt that your new paper would stick very well to it anyway.

i would strip back and risk having to replaster. you never know, you might get away with a lot of filler rather than skim.
