Patch restoring white oiled engineered floor

by denmans » Mon Jan 18, 2021 9:12 pm

I have extensive white oiled engineered floor which is now 10 years old and still looks good. but there are a few area now with stains etc. I have re oiled it every few years with white maintenance oil, which as far as I can remember is what was put on originally. I've now fine sanded a few stained areas down to the wood and tried to re oil. The oil doesn't seem to stick. Feels like the area sanded is too smooth or the oil too thin. Either way the polish/stain just won't intergrate into the smoothly sanded wood. Do I need to use a coarser grit or a different product or what?
