I have an existing outbuilding separate from the main house, in which I'd like to build a small metalwork forge. I'd be doing metalwork as a hobby not as a business.

The nearest neighbour is about 50metres from the outbuilding

Would I need planning permission for that?

If I didn't need planning permission for it, what would happen if hypothetically in a few years, I did want to use the forge for business purposes?
