Plasma TV to dry lined external wall

by eeef » Thu Jun 07, 2007 9:41 am

So, what's the best way to attacha 33kg tv to a drylined external wall? The chances of picking up the dabs are pretty minimal so it's plasterboard, gap, blockwork. I've obviously got to go into the blockwork but how far, and what are the best fixings?

Mark where the brackets are to go and cut a section out of the plasterboard. Then fix timber into the hole using the method shown in our fixing to masonry project. The timber can be decorated the same as the wall and gaps filled with decorators caulk which you can find in our filling gaps project. You will need an applicator gun for ease. The timber (as are the brackets) is not seen behind the television and you can be sure of a good, easy fix to the timber. See our project re filling holes in plasterboard to get a plasterboard saw and applicator gun for the caulk.
